Dreamed About You
03:33
|
|||
Oh I dreamed,
I dreamed last night,
yeah I dreamed
about you.
Oh I dreamed I dreamed last night,
yeah I dreamed,
about you.
Ah you came
you came to me
in the dark
and lonely night.
Yeah you came
you came to me
holding out
a golden light.
Oh I lay,
I lay me down,
and you held
me so close.
Oh I lay,
I lay me down,
to the sky
we both rose.
Your spirit soars,
and the light
the light prevails
Oh your spirit spirit soars,
and the light
the light prevails.

Falling Star
03:59
|
|||
Some people go to church,
some people go to bars
and some spiral downwards
like a falling star
and you fall
you fall so far.
I know there's a heaven,
I know there's a hell,
and there's that in between
there as well,
and you fall, you fall so far
yeah you fall, you fall, you fall.
You are an angel,
and I'm a falling star,
but there's a road to the sky,
it ain't far,
and you fall, you fall so far
yeah you fall, you fall, you fall.

Moon In The Mirror
04:53
|
|||
Just five more miles down this county road
and my backseat's packed with a heavy load and I'm
traveling with the moon in the mirror.
Open up the window feel the wind in my hair
and take account of what's really there,
turn the wipers on so I can see things clearer.
Well I took the keys and away I run
in my barefoot feet towards the setting sun and I
drove all night into the morning.
Hit the open road into the great unknown
with a pain so deep down into my bones,
finally I had had my very last warning.
With my eyes open wide
and nothing left to hide,
just me and my little love down this old highway,
well I can't look back now,
can't ask why and how,
just keep on moving forward towards a new day.
I was born awake with a soul so wise
and this form I take is just a pure disguise but
everyone seems to believe it,
but we're all made of the same but just a different shade
and everyday as we grow older and more afraid
dying brings us back to what we came with.
With my eyes open wide
and nothing left to hide,
just me and my little love down this old highway,
well I can't look back now,
can't ask why and how,
just keep on moving forward towards a new day.
Moon in the mirror,
take me back to my home,
moon in the mirror,
I wanna go home, home, home.

Living The Dream
02:42
|
|||
You sit there all day
with your face on a screen
didn't even notice
that you're living the dream
while the birds outside the window
so sweetly do sing
and that narrow old path
winds along the cool stream.
You stand out there
in a wide open field,
with your eyes closed shut
and your head unreal,
too many words
and too many thoughts,
clenching your fists,
while your soul it rots.
I know I said that I
loved you before
but still I'm walking
right out that door,
and all you'll see is the
light left behind,
and I hope that you'll cherish
your memory of my mind.

The Other Side
05:24
|
|||
Mama oh mama,
I'm longing for home,
it's been 6 long years,
and more time to come.
I've traveled by plane,
cross the ocean so wide,
and I can tell you mama,
it's been a crazy ride,
but I'm on
the other side.
I've been to the east,
I've been to west,
the north and the south
and between,
but mama oh mama,
it's quite lonesome here,
and he hurt me and he treated me mean,
oh he treated me oh so mean.
Oh I should have told you
how bad I did feel,
and sent you a letter
or called you on the phone,
but mama oh mama
I lost my tongue,
if only you could've known,
that awful pain I did feel.
Now I'm standing here
in the pouring rain,
outside the trailer
I'm living in,
and the pain in my heart faded to gold,
and I have someone to love until I'm old,
and now my sad story is all told.

To Live And Learn
04:18
|
|||
It was 9 years ago,
that i first came to this land.
Just a young girl,
of 19,
when I gave away my hand.
Oh my mother, oh she cried,
told me not to go away,
to that foreign backwards country,
but I promised I'd come back someday.
Oh dear mother, mother of mine,
you know I can't turn back the wheel of time.
All the bridges I have burned,
in this life,
just to live and learn.
When you're young,
you make decisions
without knowing how your life
will turn out,
but eventually you'll stop and see,
that you're the one that
chose this route.
Oh dear mother, mother of mine,
you know I can't turn back the wheel of time.
All the bridges I have burned,
in this life,
just to live and learn.
Oh I'm just a wayfaring stranger,
with a burden too heavy for me to keep,
I will shed every layer,
as I cross these mountains rough and steep.

Love You Tonight
03:34
|
|||
You know I want you babe,
you know I need you babe,
and I'm gonna get you soon.
I'll be kind to you,
I'll be true to you,
Oh I'll give you
the moon.
I won't lie to you,
I won't fight with you
I will listen to your heart.
If you promise me,
that you'll set me free,
if we start to drift apart,
but baby I love you
right now.
There's a shadow in the mirror,
but it's fading from my eyes,
up ahead I see bright lights,
and from the dust we'll rise.
